kwanzaa
Kwanzaa is an annual pan-African celebration of family, community and culture that is held from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a communal feast called karamu, usually held on the 6th day of Kwanzaa. It was created in the midst of the Black Freedom Movement by Dr. Maulana Karenga based on ancient African harvest celebrations from various parts of Africa. Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966.
